Maed for Mini
Today is the launch of the new collection of one of our favourite brands, Maed for Mini. We've known Maed for Mini for almost two years ago, when they were going to launch their second collection and Doris was chosen to be their brand representative. Maed for Mini is a kids brand for 0-4 years and was founded by Maerle Mulder and Edward Ouwerkerk, proud parents of two. They find inspiration in shared fascinations, their daily family life and take pleasure injecting some humor into their designs. They advocate supporting local businesses and talent and recognize their responsibilities towards the environment, their employees and the people who make their products, so we will always work hard to be a even more sustainable company.
I really love the colors Maed for Mini use in their collections, they are more mature colors than the regular kids brands use and they are easy to combine with other clothes we have. The quality of the clothes and the fact that they use organic materials is another thing I like about Maed for Mini. Doris wears the clothes all the time, but they still look really good! And the items that are to small for Doris are now being wirn by her little niece, Gyula.
I have taken so many pictures of Doris in Maed for Mini items, so I can't show all of my pictures, but I've picked a few favourites from the last two collections and of course also my favourites of the new collection that is launching today.
The second collection 2015/2016 was called "Contrast, A year round". A pink car, hunter versus hunted, black and white, cat and mouse, hot or cold, good fruit versus bad food, play x stop, introvert or extravert. Finding balance while using the full box of crayons. Our favourites of this collection were the Saab for life romper, the Ari Gold romper, the Smiling zebra romper, the Striped kneesocks and the washed linen bloomer.
The fall/winter collection was called "Wild at Heart" and was inspired by the book "Mister tiger goes wild", the favourite book of the son of Maerle and Edward. We really loved this collection, especially the cranky crocodile romper, leggings and socks, the smiling zebra romper and leggings, the zsa zsa zebra tights, all of the kneesocks, the brown leopard bloomers and to be honest the rest of the collection too, ther's nothing in this collection we didn't like!
The theme of the new Spring and Summer 2017 collection is "Daydreaming and magical thinking. Believe in your dreams and create your own world. Everything you can imagine is real". This collection is powered by soft organic quality materials, washed colours, re-used jeans, imaginary animals, magic (all-over) prints, illustrations and brand new styles. Because Imagination is everything.
I had the honour to take the pictures for the look-book of this collection, so I've already seen and felt all the items last summer, just before we moved to Barcelona. These pictures mark a special time in our life, because they were taken in our old apartment in Amsterdam and in my parents garden in Naarden in the last few weeks we were living in The Netherlands.
